As all know, for the rolling mill, cemented carbide guide roller (also called ring rollers, guide wheel) is an indispensable part of wires export in the wires rolling process, it must be accorded with the requirements of high rigidity, good wear resistance (the service life is matched with the high-quality bearing), good thermal conductivity, a certain of red hardness, especially the high speed wires rolling (rolling speed is among 80-120m/s). However, steel-bonded cemented carbide guide roller has the obvious strengths on this aspect.
Steel-bonded cemented carbide guide roller means by itself a compound material prepared via means of powder metallurgy with steel as the binder phase and refractory metals carbides (mainly titanium carbide tungsten carbide) as the hard phase. Steel-bonded cemented carbide guide roller possesses excellent performances and properties.
(1) High hardness and high wear resistance. Many refractory metal carbides (titanium carbide) are dispersed in the steel-bonded cemented carbide, which has high hardness. They can greatly improve the wear resistance of the products.
(2) Good workability. Steel-bonded cemented carbide guide roller has good mechanical properties due to its matrix structure as alloy steel (tool steel and so on) and it can be machined by general machining equipment, such as turning, milling, planing, drilling and grinding, etc.
(3) High performance-cost ratio. Compared with tungsten cobalt cemented carbide, the density of steel-bonded cemented carbide is lower, about 6.5g/ cm³, and it has a good price ratio advantage.
