Wire Drawing Die: What Should Pay Attention To During Process Of The Wire Drawing Operation?

Wire drawing dies, including tungsten carbide wire drawing dies and PCD wire drawing dies; what should be noted during the drawing process of the operation?

PCD wire drawing die
1. When using the wire drawing dies, be familiar with the drawing process route, and distinguish whether the specifications correspond to the process, otherwise it will cause useless work and damage to the metal wire and the drawing dies.

2.  When wearing a full wire drawing dies, first discharge the wire drawing die according to the size and specifications, check whether the surface quality of the metal wire is qualified, and report any abnormality in time. When each drawing die is worn, ensure that there is lubricating fluid on the surface of the metal wire and ensure sufficient lubrication as much as possible ( Perform immersion penetration). Also check whether the dimensional tolerance of each drawing die meets the process requirements.

3.  After the wire drawing dies are worn, check whether the wire drawing die is in the state of three points and one line in the process, whether the metal wire is hard friction with any part of the equipment, and if it is found to be irregular, it must be adjusted in time, otherwise it will cause damage to the surface of the metal wire and cause serious mold expansion and subsequent processes. Twist broken wire.

4. When comprehensive inspection is completed:
1) Tighten the fastening bolts to prevent the vibration of the machine tool from producing slub wires.
2) Check whether the lubricant level meets the lubrication and cooling of the finished wire drawing dies.

5. When starting, first ensure the low-speed operation of the machine tool to make the surface of the wire drawing dies fully run-in, so as to enhance the wear resistance of the wire drawing dies and increase the service life.

6. Changing the wire drawing dies during the drawing process must meet the following conditions:
1) When the wire diameter does not meet the process requirements;
2) If the wire drawing die is broken or severely scratched during the drawing process, check the state of the metal wire, three points and one line, lubrication conditions, and the tolerance of the front and rear molds that do not meet the requirements, resulting in uneven compression rate and severe adhesion on the wire drawing die surface, which affects the thermal conductivity of the wire drawing die;
3) The old wire drawing dies that have been replaced should be inspected and analyzed in order to make full use of them correctly;
4) When the process is changed, the wire drawing die set should be sent to the mold warehouse for identification, indicating whether the drawing time and the size tolerance of the wire drawing dies are within the process range, so that the mold warehouse personnel can classify and store it in a short time.
